Ochre

Ochre is a handcrafted fine brandy. A spirit that is double distilled in an alembic still on the Mornington Peninsula from Chardonnay grapes then matured in French oak for a minimum of five years.

Ochre The Spirit

The first of its kind in Australia, Ochre is an aged spirit that is double distilled in an Alembic still on the Mornington Peninsula from Chardonnay grapes.

Whilst using the French methodology for distilling our spirit, we have also been able to pioneer certain techniques in the process to ensure our spirit is truly unique and beyond doubt, revolutionary. Our approach to every step in the process has been meticulously handcrafted and controlled by only two master distillers, the result is a rare, innovative and uniquely Australian spirit. A limited 2014 release is now available exclusively at our Cellar Door, visit us for a journey from vineyard to glass.

Ochre The Name

The Ochre name was not only derived from the rich golden colour of the spirit itself, but it is also synonymous with the colours of the vast Australian landscapes. Ochre also best describes the rich red soil that is prevalent in the Red Hill wine growing region, the original home of Bass & Flinders Distillery.  Keeping true to its Australian heritage this fine artisanal spirit is enclosed in a handcrafted Australian leather case.
